Esports is competeive video gaming, many people around the world take part in Esports by going to local tournaments and competing against other people. The Esports scene started to take place during the mid 2010's. Two of the most succesful games that took the e-sports title even farther was League of Legends and Dota 2. Other games with significant earnings inlcude: Call of Duty, Heroes of the Storm, HearthStone, Overwatch, Smite, and Starcraft II. Many other genres include first-person shooters(FPS), fighting, and multiplayer online battle arena(MOBA).

Esports arena

In 2013, it was estiamted that approximately 71.5 million people worldwide watched Esports. Streaming media has become more popular and easier to watch. Twitch is a live streaming video platform owned by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon. Introduced in June 2011 as a spin-off of the general-interest streaming platform, Justin.tv. Twitch brodcasts many esports competitions. The global Esports market generated $325 million of revenue in 2015 and was expected to make $493 million USD in 2016; the global eSports audience in 2015 was 226 million people. According to a Newzoo report in April 2017, 42% of the gaming market belongs to the mobile industry, and mobile is projected to claim more than 50% the market by 2020.
